Need to edit a PDF drawing in CAD? The PDF to DWG converter rebuilds a PDF’s lines and text as an editable DWG or DXF, and the JPG to DWG converter does the same for scans and photos.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a DWG to PDF without AutoCAD?

Upload the DWG here. Aginera’s CAD service (ODA, no Autodesk) plots each paper-space layout to a PDF page — or, for a drawing with no layouts, each separate drawing in model space — and you download the PDF. Free with a free account.

Is the PDF vector or an image?

Vector: lines and text stay sharp at any zoom, and the file stays small enough to email.

Which layouts are included?

The paper-space layouts, in order, up to 6 sheets per file on the free converter. Upload larger sets to a takeoff project.

Does it convert DXF to PDF too?

Yes — DXF files are plotted the same way.

What about fonts and xrefs?

Standard SHX and TrueType text is drawn; custom fonts fall back to a standard font. Externally referenced drawings (xrefs) are not inside the DWG, so they only appear if they were bound into the file before uploading.

Need quantities, not just a model?

The free tools run on a single drawing. Aginera's takeoff product reads a whole plan set and produces priced, sheet-referenced quantities.
