For MEP contractors and engineering firms

Take off electrical, HVAC and plumbing from one upload — and price it in the system you already use

Aginera reads the whole drawing set — schedules, keynotes, plans and riser diagrams — and returns a takeoff where every line points back to its sheet. Your estimators review it and export it to Accubid, McCormick, ConEst, Procore or Excel.

All of MEP in one tool

Electrical, HVAC, plumbing and fire protection from the same upload, not a separate product per trade. Multi-trade firms and GCs reviewing MEP scope get one takeoff, one review screen, one export.

Every quantity traceable

Each row carries its sheet, tag and source — schedule, keynote or measured run. Lengths that cannot be measured, such as runs on a not-to-scale diagram, are flagged for review instead of being guessed into the total.

Minutes, not a queue

The takeoff runs in the browser while you wait — 14 minutes for the 12-sheet mechanical set in our case study — not handed to an offshore team with a 24–72 hour turnaround.

Proof you can check

18 of 20 new-work lines matched the drawings — and we show the 2 that did not

A public 12-sheet State of Missouri chiller and air-handler replacement, with the three contractors’ real bids. We read every new-work line in the takeoff against the schedules, keynotes, piping diagram and controls sheet by hand. The two misses were existing equipment drawn for connection — the kind of thing your reviewer is there to catch, and the case study shows exactly where.

The pilot: your drawings, your takeoff, side by side

  1. Step 1

Send a set you have already bid

One or two drawing sets your team has estimated, in the trade you care about most.

  2. Step 2

We run it and line it up against yours

Our takeoff next to your estimator’s, line by line: matches, misses and what we caught that was not in yours.

  3. Step 3

    Decide on what you saw

If it saves your team time on your own work, we size an annual plan to your bid volume. If not, you have lost an afternoon.

Export to the system you price in

Aginera does the takeoff; your estimating database keeps the prices and labor units.

  • Trimble / Accubidline items with labor units
  • McCormick Systemselectrical estimate with phase and cost codes
  • ConEst IntelliBidmaterial and labor items
  • Vision InfoSoftWBS and job extension data
  • Procore Estimatingbudget and estimate import
  • Bluebeam / PlanSwift / OSTtakeoff quantities CSV
  • Excel and CSVor your own template, mapped at onboarding
  • JSON APIfor your own systems and agents

Also available: a REST API and connectors for AI assistants — Claude, ChatGPT and custom agents — so takeoffs can be started and read from the tools your team already works in.

Security and administration

  • Single sign-on. Microsoft Entra ID for enterprise accounts.
  • Admin controls and roles. Organisation admins manage users, roles and seats.
  • Audit trail. Activity log of takeoff runs, edits and reviews.
  • SOC 2 infrastructure. Hosted on Microsoft Azure, audited for SOC 2 Type 2, SOC 1/3 and ISO 27001 at the infrastructure layer; files in Azure Blob Storage. Security questionnaires completed during procurement.
  • Data use. De-identified model improvement is opt-out by admin under our Terms; enterprise agreements can set the opt-out at signing.
  • Review before export. Every row keeps the extracted quantity and the reviewed quantity separately, so you can see what a reviewer changed.

Procurement questions

How does a pilot work?

You send one or two drawing sets you have already estimated. We run them, then sit down with your estimator and go through our takeoff against yours line by line: what matches, what we missed, what we caught. You decide on a team plan after you have seen that comparison on your own work.

Which estimating systems can we export to?

Export profiles for Trimble/Accubid (line items with labor units), McCormick (phase and cost codes), ConEst IntelliBid, Vision InfoSoft, Procore Estimating, a Bluebeam/PlanSwift/On-Screen Takeoff CSV, Excel and CSV, and structured JSON for your own integrations. If you price from your own Excel template, we map the export to it during onboarding.

Do you have SOC 2?

Aginera runs on Microsoft Azure infrastructure, which is independently audited for SOC 2 Type 2 as well as SOC 1, SOC 3 and ISO 27001; Microsoft publishes those reports in its Service Trust Portal. The attestation covers the infrastructure layer — Aginera’s own application audit is not complete yet — and we fill in your security questionnaire during procurement. Enterprise sign-in is through your Microsoft Entra ID.

Do you train AI models on our drawings?

Our Terms allow de-identified use of uploaded drawings to improve the models, and give account administrators an opt-out. Enterprise accounts can set the opt-out at signing, so it is written into your agreement rather than requested later.

Which trades and drawing types are covered?

Electrical (devices, fixtures, panels, feeders, conduit), HVAC and mechanical (equipment schedules, duct and pipe runs, controls), plumbing (fixtures, pipe by size, risers), fire protection, and structural steel and concrete. PDF drawing sets, scanned sheets and DWG/DXF files.

How is it priced?

An annual organisation licence plus seats, sized to how many bids you take off per month. Unlimited users on the enterprise plan, so reviewers and project managers do not need their own licence. We quote after the pilot, once both sides know the volume.
