Free STL File Viewer Online
Open an STL mesh from 3D printing or scanning in your browser — no software to install. Rotate, section and measure it in 3D and see its size, volume and print weight. STEP, IGES and OBJ files open too.
The sample below opens right here. Your own file opens with a free account — it is kept in a private project with its weight, parts list and BOM, ready to quote.
Part summary
STL, STEP or IGES: what the viewer shows
STEP / STP
Exact solids from SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor, Fusion, Creo or NX, with their part names and colours. Each body is a separate part you can hide, isolate or explode.
IGES / IGS
The older neutral format, still common from legacy CAD and suppliers. Opens the same way as STEP, read with OpenCascade.
STL / OBJ / PLY
Triangle meshes from 3D printing and scanning. Rotate, section and measure them; weight comes from the mesh volume.
Opening a STEP part? The STEP viewer has the same tools. Quoting sheet metal? STEP to BOM reads gauge, flat blank, bends and scrap. Got a 2D drawing instead? Convert PDF to DWG.
Frequently asked questions
How do I open an STL file online?
Drop the .stl file on this page and sign in (or create a free account). It opens as an interactive 3D model in your browser — rotate, zoom, cut a section and measure. Nothing to install. The sample part on this page opens without an account.
Can I measure an STL?
Yes. Click two points on the mesh for the distance and its X, Y and Z components; the panel shows the overall size, the volume and the weight in the material you pick.
How is the weight worked out?
From the closed mesh’s volume times the material density (steel, stainless, aluminium, copper, brass or titanium). An open or broken mesh has no volume, so no weight is shown.
Is the STL viewer free?
Yes — viewing, measuring and sectioning are free with a free account. STEP and IGES files open too, with their exact solids and part names.
Is my file kept private?
Your part is stored in your own private project in your Aginera account and is not shared.
